Our Mission
QED Productions creates smart, engaging theatre for a sophisticated audience – the sort of theatre that asks hard questions, presents emotional and intellectual challenges, and always entertains. We believe in fostering a professional, supportive, collaborative environment that leads to a positive, fulfilling experience for the artists, the staff, and ultimately the audience.
Our productions seek not to promote opinions, but to provide the marvelous challenge of forming them. We believe that the theatrical experience can be stimulating on many levels, and so we are drawn to plays that enlighten and entertain at the same time. We strive to create those magical moments when your mind bends as your sides burst, when you leave disquieted and yet comforted, when an evening of fun is somehow still on your mind a week later. We want to create theater that remembers its original purpose: to share the joys and sorrows of the story of being human.
QED was born when four friends discovered this magic in Tom Stoppard’s Arcadia, which became our inaugural production. We are currently planning our first full season, in which we will continue to search for these experiences, in works old and new.
